How We Manage The Scope Of Work!

A remodeling project can feel overwhelming without the right structure in place. At Duenez Design & Build, we follow a clear and organized process to ensure every detail is planned, executed, and delivered with precision. From the initial concept to the final walkthrough, our goal is to provide a smooth, transparent, and high-quality experience.

While every project is unique, the following outlines how we manage the scope of work from start to finish:

Consultation & Project Planning:

We begin by understanding your vision, goals, and budget. During this phase, we review the scope of work, take measurements, and develop a clear plan that aligns with your expectations. This may include layout ideas, material selections, and guidance on design direction.

Pre-Construction Preparation:

Before any work begins, we finalize selections, confirm scope details, and prepare the space. This includes scheduling, ordering materials, and ensuring all necessary preparations are in place to keep the project running efficiently.

Demolition:

We carefully remove existing materials as outlined in the scope of work. Our team takes precautions to protect surrounding areas and maintain a clean and controlled job site throughout the process.

Structural & Framing Work:

If your project involves modifications such as removing or building walls, adding beams, or reinforcing structures, this is where that work takes place. We ensure everything is properly built and prepared for the next stages. Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP): All in-wall and underfloor systems are addressed at this stage. This includes electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work performed by qualified professionals to ensure everything is up to code and properly installed.

Drywall & Surface Preparation:

We install drywall, complete taping and floating, and prepare surfaces for finishing. This step ensures walls and ceilings are smooth, level, and ready for texture or paint.

Flooring Installation:

Selected flooring materials are installed, whether tile, hardwood, engineered wood, vinyl, or laminate. Proper preparation and installation techniques are followed to ensure durability and a high-end finish.

Cabinetry, Fixtures & Finishes:

This is where the space begins to come together. Cabinets, countertops, fixtures, and appliances are installed with attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Painting & Final Touches:

We complete painting and final finishes, bringing the project to life. All details are reviewed to ensure a clean, polished result that meets our standards.

Final Walkthrough & Project Completion:

We walk through the project with you to ensure everything meets your expectations. Any final adjustments are addressed, and we make sure you are fully satisfied with the completed work.

Our Commitment

We manage every project with clear communication, quality workmanship, and attention to detail. Our structured approach ensures your project stays organized, efficient, and aligned with the agreed scope of work.

He transformed our two bathrooms into stunning spaces with top-notch craftsmanship, all at a very fair price. He converted the bathrub into walk-in showers and The attention to detail was incredible, from the flawless tile work to the perfect finishes. He was super professional, finished on time, and kept everything clean and tidy throughout the project. Communication was a breeze, and he went out of his way to make sure we were 100% happy. I can’t recommend him enough for anyone needing a remodel—amazing work!"

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Juan was very professional and respectful. He helped me achieve my vision for renewing my rental property and managed to keep everything under budget as well! He and his team finished the job (2400 sqft house, new paint and carpet) in less than a week, so I could get my property back on the market as soon as possible. I really appreciated how easy it was to work with Juan, no shopping around for multiple contractors, I just called Juan and all of my problems went away.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I wanted an open concept kitchen but I was working with limited space. I had a wall that separated my kitchen and living area with a low bearing wall. Due to having my plumbing and hvac in the way in my attic, Juan and his guys came in and added a beam. They were able to give me an open concept look where he ran cabinets all against the back wall with a L shape look. Everything really opened up the space! They moved the electrical / plumbing and even I was able to add a pot filler valve over my stove! I got a larger window installed for more natural lighting. And last my pantry cabinetry doubled in size! Juan and his crew did awesome!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jd and his guys came in and tackled our flooring situation. The floored buckled from water damage. They removed the existing floor and also removed some of the subfloor. Other companies said they needed to remove all the subfloor. Jd said he needed to remove the flooring first so he could see what was actually damaged. I went with JD just because of that advice. I felt very comfortable and felt I wasn’t trying to be taken advantage of when I spoke with JD prior to giving him my project! They did an amazing job redoing the sub floor and leveling it. My new floors look better than ever! I will call JD for any other projects in the future! Great respectful guys!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. JD and his crew were awesome to work with and did amazing work. JD took what we said we wanted and made it reality. He and his crew were very punctual and communicated with us daily about where they were in the process of doing the bathrooms. A small thing we really appreciated was they cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. Overall we love our bathrooms and asked him to quote our kitchen before they left. We will definitely be reaching back out when we get ready to pull the trigger on that project.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jd and his crew came in and handled my painting project perfectly! Jd guided me from picking out the right type of paint finish to helping hanging everything back on my walls without expecting to do so. Duenez Design & Build were punctual from day one and I felt comfortable with his crew. Very professional. I will definitely call him if I need any future projects done!

About Us

At Duenez Design & Build, we began in 2015 with a passion for crafting custom cabinets that make homes special. When hurricane Harvey struck in 2017, we saw an opportunity to do even more for our community. Witnessing poor craftsmanship – misaligned tile, uneven shower slopes, cabinets and countertops badly jointed, and improper drywall finishes – we were driven to deliver something better. We grew from rebuilding flooded spaces into a full service remodeling company. We didn’t just repair walls – we made them better, blending textures and creating seamless finishes. From there, we expanded: Building room additions, opening floor plans, and transforming kitchens, baths, and entire homes. Every project is fueled by our commitment to quality and a passion for making your home exactly what you envision.
